For this blog update, we’ll be talking specifically about closet organization. This is one of the more difficult items to tackle, but it will definitely help with reducing the clutter in your bedroom. This will also indirectly help with getting ready for work in the morning or preparing for an activity you do frequently!
Pull Your Clothes Out Of The Closet
One of the biggest solutions we recommend is pulling out all of your clothes and starting from there. Organize your clothes into categories. Maybe there are some clothes you want to keep and others you’d like to throw away because you no longer need.
You could also categorize your clothes in other ways. For example, if it’s the summer you may want to separate winter clothes from the pile and put them somewhere separate. You can place these winter clothes in clothing storage bags that slide underneath the bed. Now you’ve just made some more room for yourself in your closet, allowing for more space and freedom!
Another bonus is that you also won’t have to wonder where your winter jacket is when that season comes. Your winter jacket will be with all of your other winter friendly outfits! And on the flip side of the coin, you can place your more summer friendly outfits into the storage bag under the bed during the colder months!
Making The Most Of Your Closet
If you find yourself having trouble with keeping your closet organized, we have some suggestions! Whether you have a large or small closet, you can try to make the most of the space that you have to ensure you have a clutter free environment!
For your closet, we recommend getting shelves to take advantage of the space below waist height, or even investing in a floor to ceiling closet organizers. If you have a walk in closet, you can use the shelves for everything from clothes to shoes, which helps with removing the clutter as well.
Additionally, you can take advantage of the space behind your closet door. You can add extra hooks if you find yourself needing more space for clothes, or putting a shoe organizer on the door as well. If you have a lot of shoes, a shoe organizer will be a fantastic investment for you!
When it comes to organizing your clothes in your closet, we recommend hanging up clothes that you use more often, and folding and storing away clothes that you use rarely. For example, if you have a specific dress code for work, we recommend hanging up the outfits that you frequently use for that occasion specifically.
This can take the “guesswork” out of putting outfits together as well as reduce the time it takes for you to get ready in the morning. It’s also good for peace of mind
